1. Scope
These terms apply to the website at xiom-lang.org, the documentation at docs.xiom-lang.org, the package registry at registry.xiom-lang.org, the playground at playground.xiom-lang.org, and the release mirror at dl.xiom-lang.org (together, "the services"). By using the services you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the services.
2. Open-source software
The XIOM compiler, standard library and tooling are open-source software released under the MIT or Apache-2.0 licenses, at your option. These terms do not limit any rights granted to you by those licenses. Nothing on this website is a promise that a particular feature or release will be delivered.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the services to break the law, to attack or overload the infrastructure, to distribute malware, to harass other people, to misrepresent your affiliation with the project, or to publish packages that do any of those things. Names that impersonate the project or other publishers (typosquatting) are not allowed. Code submitted to the playground is processed on our servers: only submit material you are permitted to share with a third-party service.
4. Packages and content you publish
You keep ownership of the code and content you publish. By publishing, you give the project permission to store, distribute and display it through the services, and you confirm you have the right to do so. Published versions are immutable by design; a version can be withdrawn from fresh resolution (yanked) but existing lockfiles keep working. The project may remove or restrict content that violates these terms.
5. No warranty
The services are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. XIOM is pre-1.0 software under active development: releases may change, the registry is in beta, and outages may occur. Verify what matters to you.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the project and its maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the services.
7. Third-party services
The services link to third-party platforms such as GitHub. Those platforms have their own terms, and this project does not control them.
8. Changes
These terms may change as the project grows. The date at the top shows the current version; continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
